Jan 2015

In 2012 the Foundation supported Peter Harrison’s wish to create a new charity, the Peter Harrison Heritage Foundation, allowing him to pursue some of his wider personal and philanthropic interests including military history. (Note: the Peter Harrison Heritage Foundation does not entertain unsolicited applications). Peter was thus able to make a major contribution of £1.75 million towards the redevelopment of the Imperial War Museum and the new First World War Gallery which was opened in 2014 by HRH the Duke of Cambridge and the Prime Minister.

  • ‘Shock and Awe’, a section of the new gallery featuring the stalemate in the early stages of WW1 has been funded by the Peter Harrison Heritage Foundation.
